Toothpaste cd?

does smearing toothpaste on a cd really get rid of the scratches?

Toothpaste cd?
Logically how would toothpaste replace the data lost in the scratch?
Reply:no. i tryed it. it dosnt work!
Reply:never heard of that before
Reply:not according to yahoo.
Reply:I%26#039;ve tried it on a few CDs and it%26#039;s never really worked. It just leaves a burnished smear on the plastic and is even worse. Apparently it depends on what type of toothpaste you use but I would seriously suggest getting something more appropriate and professionally made for the task.
Reply:it fills them in and makes them playable for a time but if you want something that will really helpgo to digitalinnovations.com and get their motorized automax disc repair sywtem it fixes scratches by resurfacing the disc. it works on all disc walmart might have it you may have to check. i got mine at Kmart.
Reply:Yeah it definitly helps, I do it to anything with scratches, like my iPod back.
Reply:No. I tried it and it doesn%26#039;t work.
Reply:It depends on lots of things.

1. The toothpaste

2. The Disk

3. The Scratch

For 1, u need a perfect toothpaste, no blemishes or inconsistencies (i.e. it need to be white toothpaste, and has to be from a fresh tube, i.e. within first few weeks of opening)

For 2, u need to talk to sum1 who knows more about it. My friend knows about this so if im doing it, i talk to him first.

For 3, the scratch cant be a deep 1, it only works on shallow scratches, so its good for disks that wont work cuz of lots of little scratches.

Who invented the multi-compartment toothpaste tube that makes toothpaste striped?

And why was striped toothpaste such a big hit? Do you like your toothpaste to be stripey or one single shade?

Who invented the multi-compartment toothpaste tube that makes toothpaste striped?
This is one of those simple inventions that has been helping manufacturers to sell toothpaste for decades. We have to go back almost 50 years to find US patent number 2,789,731 and UK patent 813,514, both in the name of Leonard Lawrence Marraffino. He licensed his invention of striped toothpaste to Unilever, and this company subsequently marketed the first commercial version, which was called Signal in the UK.

Colgate-Palmolive%26#039;s US patent number 4,969,767, granted in 1990, describes a scheme for adding stripes of two colours. Here, the central pipe is surrounded by a wider but shorter pipe, which creates a space for a second coloured paste. Tiny holes, once again, deliver this paste onto the surface of the white paste.

If anyone else would have invented it, it would be called %26quot;teethpaste%26quot;.

Toothpaste on Pimples?
hey voodoo in the grand scheme of things if a pimple is your biggest worry than you are in the top 1 percentile of lucky people in the world.....but that aside I was once your age and realize things like a pimple are quite disturbing at that age....to answer your question my girlfreind at the age of thirty still swears by the ole%26#039; toothpaste technique....although it is not an overnight remedy the detergents in tooth paste dry the oils and promote the fading of the blemish.....or you can just wait for a whitehead to appear and explode that growth onto the bathroom mirror.....you will find this rewarding in a strange way.....keep your grades up and listen to your parents and mentors more than your freinds.......I am 34 and at your age I had dozens of %26quot;freinds%26quot;....now I have a great family (parents included), 4 good Friends who I still am close with and countless acquaintances who I considered friends and through time found that life changes us all...so keep your family close and look out for you and yours

Reply:Go out, or I guess have your Mom/Dad go out and get you some tea tree oil. It is known for it%26#039;s help with pimples. CAUTION: If it is full strength, dilute it with water. Do not put it full strength directly on your face.
Reply:It works on small pimples and its not an overnight cure, but you do have to use white toothpaste, that is really a paste, and not any that are used for teeth whiting.
Reply:its effective.... i use it...

Toothpaste and pimples?

Will using toothpaste on pimples really help your get clear skin? It sounds odd to me but does it actually help?

Toothpaste and pimples?
The toothpaste isn%26#039;t a miracle cream or anything. On some people it will help dry out the acne and that%26#039;s about it. I tried it once and it did dry up the pimple but I was left with a brown acne scar.
Reply:for some people it does help to dry them up. just don%26#039;t go too nuts..too much of a good thing blah blah....can%26#039;t hurt to try, right? good luck
Reply:There%26#039;s no ingredient in toothpaste that heals pimples, but it does dry out the area, which can help when you clean it with a proper cleanser.
Reply:my mom duz that and i guess it werks cuz she has been doin it for years
Reply:It dries them out and they go away that way. Sometimes I use hydrocortizone.(I think I spelled it wrong) and it helps make them go away too!
Reply:Never worked for me.
Reply:All it does it dry them out. It will still take a few days for them to go away. The best stuff you could buy for pimples is Roaccutane. It will stop you getting big break outs for ever. You have to go on Roaccutane for about 9 months though.
Reply:ive seen someone once do this on an episode of that so raven. but as reality goes, im not sure. never heard of anyone to do this. but i started using nuetrogena and within one day my skin was glowing. everybody noticed the difference in my skin
Reply:Yes it does get rid of pimple but at price, well at least for me. Okay so I was going back to school from spring break and I had this HUGE pimple so I called my friend and asked her what would get rid of the pimple and she told me to use toothpaste and I did. When I woke up the next morning I had a huge red spot on my face!!! No it wan%26#039;t a pimple because there was no bump, there was just a big spot, like a chiken pox, only bigger on my face!!!
Reply:Apply some toothpaste on the pimple and Ice down the pimple before bed, by morning it should be noticeably better. More such solutions at http://solutionsforpimples.blogspot.com/
Reply:put it on the pimple for like 15 or 20 minutes.

then wash it off with acne wash if you have any water works too.

then put acne lotion or oil free lotion on it and some Vaseline too.

DONT LEAVE IT ON ALL NIGHT!

it eats your skin!
Reply:Apply directly on pimple and wait a 5, 10, or 15 minutes and then rinse off. Depending on how bad it is and how long you can stand the toothpaste on your face.
Reply:Toothpaste isnt going to clear up your pimples. It dries it up and reduces the redness. Put a dab on it before you go to bed and wash it off in the morning. Use facial cleansers specifically for acne and prevention of acne. Nutrogena Acne Mosturizer works well to help clear up and prevent furture breakouts. And it keeps your skin feeling soft all day too.

Toothpaste for Acne?

does toothpaste really work to get rid of acne?

Toothpaste for Acne?
it works for some, but not everyone.

here are some things that you can do to help...

mix baking soda and witch hazel/or water together until it comes to a good constancy, and then spread on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. these two things are very inexpenisve and it%26#039;s very easy to do since there is only two ingerdients. toothpaste is good also (for some people). put only a little bit before you go to sleep. some people use this as a mask but DON%26#039;T do it! it can change your skin tone and make your face discolored. aloe vera helps scars lighten and less noticable. use the gel or the real thing. try to buy a cleanser that works for you, and when you wash your face, open your pores with hot water (not to hot, or it will dry out your skin) and massage it gently into your skin. the use cold water at the end to close you pores. the smaller your pores are, the less likely you%26#039;re prone to pimples. an egg yoke is good also. i used this when i had pimples. just take the egg yoke (the yellow part) and leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water and then splash your face with cold water. keep your hair out of your face because the oils in your hair could go into your pores. change you sheets because they%26#039;re are trapped with dirt, oils, etc. zinc (type of vitamin) is the one of the best things you can use to get rid of pimples. you can buy these almost about any large store (such as walmart or shaws.) have one tablet per day and try to cut down the junk food and replace it with vegetables and fruits. clearasil, neutrogena, and proactive are good choices to start. don%26#039;t use body soaps because they dry out your skin. don%26#039;t scrub too hard either, because it can irritate your skin. tea tree oil helps alot, and it can help scars heal faster.
Reply:no use noxzema and seabreeze for acne.
Reply:no it does not
Reply:It does not, it%26#039;s an old wives tale.
Reply:kind of. It makes it go down but it doesnt always completely get rid of it... Try mixing a little baking soda with even less water then but it on your pimples and let it dry. That helped me.. Good luck %26lt;3 :D
Reply:yeah i does! at least for me. at night u put FLUORIDE toothpaste on a band aid and stick it over ur pimple. it actually works.
Reply:I think that myth is around due to the mint and drying nature of toothpaste on skin. Not really your best solution.

Keep your hands and pillowcases clean. Try not to touch your face with your hands alot, you would be surprised how often we put our hands to our faces and transfer bacteria.

Any time you do need to %26quot;clean up%26quot; some acne, put toilet paper on the ends of your fingers so you don%26#039;t bruise the skin. Always use some toner and or alcohol dabbed on the areas before and after you work on your face. Pick as little as possible!

Good luck
Reply:it works for meee !
Reply:OK LISTEN UP

1) The toothpaste can bring it down

2) WILL NOT completly clear it!!!

There are cheap alternatives!

Try using a mixture of TEA TREE + WITCH HAZEL TO WASH FACE, THEN RINSE , WHEN U WAKE UP AND GO TO BED, THESE PRODUCTS ARE SOLD IN LOADS OF SHOPS AT AFFORDABLE PRICES
Reply:haha i tried it once and it didn%26#039;t do squat for me except make my skin smell minty fresh....although it kinda depends on the person so you might wanna try it on you but don%26#039;t put it all over your skin so if it doesn%26#039;t work/makes your skin worse then at least it won%26#039;t be all over your face.
Reply:Apply some toothpaste on the acne. Ice down the acne before bed, by morning it should be noticeably better. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

Toothpaste as facial wash?

have you heard of that?

a person i knew told me that the reason why she has a good skin on the face is because she uses toothpaste as her facial wash. i am doubtful about it, because the ingredients in the toothpase are not fit for the face, and skin all over for that matter.

have you tried it? if so, is it true that it can help make your skin more beautiful?

Toothpaste as facial wash?
acne. it helps dry your skin out.. so i have actually used it for acne.. and i actually love the cooling sensation it gives. I still do it.
Reply:The only thing I heard from ppl about using toothpaste on the skin/face was 2 get rid of acne.
Reply:Well, I%26#039;ve read that alot of people do that but it dries out the skin. Wanna know what I did that improved my skin to wear I get compliments? I drink a TON of water. Totally cleared my skin up. I also wash off my makeup before I go to bed and moisturize and all the good stuff. But to really improve your skin, trust me. Drink alot of water.
Reply:People dab toothpaste on pimples because it will shrink them, however you should not use it as a facial cleanser. I believe it is too harsh. Dude you%26#039;d be going through like a million tubes of it.
Reply:It does contain a mild abrasive, so it%26#039;s no worse than any facial scrub.
Reply:I would bet that it would be an irritant to a person%26#039;s face. I%26#039;d stick to products made specifically for washing the face or even shower gel.
Reply:no way

my friend tried it once on her cheeks because she had acne and pimples on her cheeks

the next day when i saw her at school, she looked like pikachu!!

don%26#039;t try it, it%26#039;s definitely not made for skin
Reply:that girl aint right
