Toothpaste?

i just bought toothpaste without fluorid for my 18 month old.

is it really harmless for him, as he still doesn%26#039;t know how to spit out and will swallow it.

which one is the best, is there anything in it, which is bad, and therefore shouldn%26#039;t be swallowed.

besides it is so hard to brush his teeth, i am lucky if i can touch couple teeth for at least a tinisecond. somedays i cannot brush at all, he will scream and bite on the brush.

any tips

thanks

Toothpaste?
i bought a tooth tune tooth brush for my daughter it plays music everytime you brush i got it at walmart you might want to try this to encourage him to brush also i used little bear tooth paste another thing is brush your teeth with him show him how mommy does it and maybe he will imitate you
Reply:Little Bear toothpaste, it%26#039;s a really small tube in a box. That is completely safe for swallowing, I know because my son actually eats it right off the brush after I hand it to him!
Reply:buy childrens toothpaste and make it fun for him. Teach him how to brush his teeth and make him spit. tell him that swallowing it can make his tummy hurt and %26quot;we dont want that%26quot; Let him pick out any toothbrush and paste he wants, and when you are brushing your teeth, let him stand next to you brushing his :)

Mom of 5 boys ages 8,6,6,4 and 1 month
Reply:gerber toothpaste is a safe.
Reply:The thing that worked best for my children was to have them watch me brush my teeth, they always wanted to be like mom :) my youngest actually started walking up to me with his mouth hanging open, that was his sign he wanted to brush teeth. I found that laying off of the toothpaste was best. Just a touch of the same kind I use did the trick.

Good luck!!!
Reply:If you use just a tiny bit of tooth paste i don%26#039;t think it will affect him. For my 2 boys, 3 and 18 months, I just put a tiny dot on the toothbrush.

It also helps with getting your child to cooperate if you get toothpaste or a toothbrush with a character they like.
