Toothpaste?

I have a cat named Luke. He is a sweet cat, but he has a vice. He drools. A LOT! I love to cuddle with him, but it is odd.

The problem being that he is a hunter. I have watched him bring countless mice, mutilated, to our front porch. And then he comes along and drools all over me!

I am going to but pet toothpaste, but i was wondering, could I make some homemade with household items? I heard Baking Soda works well. Is this true?

Please don%26#039;t call me lazy. I AM buying it, I just need a toothpaste to last until then.

Thanks in advance!!!

NOTE~ This is in Dogs because this might also be used for my new puppy if we run out of toothpaste.

Toothpaste?
call your vet they maybe could give you the ingredients to make your own holistic toothpaste
Reply:it%26#039;s not lazy! i make my own wet food for my cats, and trust me it%26#039;s a lot more work that just going to the store! a little baking soda and water mixed together as a paste helps to clean your dogs teeth. But don%26#039;t use very much baking soda because salt is not good for your fury friends. =)
Reply:don%26#039;t make your own. It takes a lot of knowledge and careful consideration. doing it wrong could be toxic to your pets. Just buy some. They%26#039;ll be fine without any in the meantime.
Reply:I%26#039;m not sure about the baking soda, it might be alright, but the dog or cat won%26#039;t like the taste. I%26#039;d wait until you buy the flavored paste made especially for pets. It will make the whole brushing experience alot easier on you as well since the pet will like the taste of it.
Reply:Go to your pet store or your veterinarian for the appropriate toothpaste for pets. Please don%26#039;t use on your pets what we use. As for the drooling I would suggest you have your kitty examined by your veterinarian. Alot of drooling could be caused by bad teeth or a bad tooth. You can then discuss about toothpaste and any other matters you are concerned about.

Good luck
Reply:You dont need to brush you puppies%26#039; teeth it will jsut be another useless thing to put in its fragile body, and for the cat why would toothpaste help drool..Take it to the vet it is probably just missing a couple teeth if you notices he drools on one side when you are holding him flip him over.
Reply:don%26#039;t make your own it might make your dog sick or bad

just buy a pet toothpaste for better

GOOD LUCK
