Toothpaste?

i was told that every time your toothpaste run out that you are to get a different kind because the germs get adapted? Is this valid?

Toothpaste?
lol I don%26#039;t think so... I did hear once that you can get a film from the toothpaste (like you can get a film from the same brand of shampoo for too long) but... I donno, I just buy what%26#039;s on sale anyways.lol
Reply:only if your toothpaste contains antibiotics which they don%26#039;t...not true
Reply:Nope. All toothpastes are pretty much the same. They predominantly have flouride as their main ingredient. The baking soda or %26quot;bubbles%26quot; are all gimmicks to encourage you to brush. Stick with one you like or go experiment with new ones and see which one you like.
Reply:that is bull. Bacteria in the mouth are not that clever. Plaque is a sticky substance that can become calculus (tartar) in a matter of 2 weeks. Honestly, you can remove plaque by just brushing alone - no toothpaste. It is the manual things that you do to your teeth that remove the actual plaque colonies. Once it is tartar, only a dental tool can remove this barnacle of sorts. Toothpaste needs to be mild and contain fluoride (ADA approved) - the purpose of toothpaste is to help prevent decay. If your teeth become sensitive, then change your toothpaste. I use good old fashioned Crest or AquaFresh - try to stay away from whitening as this will cause your cementum (roots at gumline) to become sensitive over time.
Reply:I could see how someone would say that, but my grandparents have used the same toothpaste forever and they don%26#039;t get cavities :).
