I%26#039;m not pregnant now, but when I was toothpaste was the enemy. I couldn%26#039;t take the taste. I remember my sister would gag every morning on it too when she was pregnant. Is this a genetic thing between my sister and I or does toothpaste make you sick too?? Just thinking about it now makes me whoozy!
Does toothpaste make you gag??
YES YES YES!
It happened to me too.
I couldn%26#039;t get it NEAR MY MOUTH.
I couldn%26#039;t watch my son brush his teeth.
If I got it anywhere near/on my tongue. BLAH!!
Reply:It would def. make me gag and sometimes get sick. Then I would have to start all over again. LOL
Reply:When i was i pregnant i threw up a few times trying to get through brushing my teeth different tooth pastes did%26#039;t help either.
Reply:Im 10 weeks preggers now n yes it makes me gag every morning, Im not sure if its the toothepaste so much but its the way my mouth is open when i brush my teeth i think. I havent got a clue i just know i hate brushing my teeth right now n i did with my first child aswell.
Reply:When I was pregnant I was actually craving the taste of toothpaste, lol.
Reply:Toothpaste is my enemy! It takes me like 6 tries to brush my teeth in the morning and at night it%26#039;s terrible!
Reply:Some people just have a stronger gag reflex. It may not be the tooth paste.
Reply:It never used to, but since first getting pregnant when I was 17 it has ever since and I am now 25.
Reply:yes, although it has always made me gag!! It is more common in pregnancy because your gag reflex is hightened so that if you throw up your body is ready to help you expel anything you throw up. Even if you don%26#039;t actually feel like vomiting, your body is ready for it!
Reply:I dreaded brushing my teeth with all three of my children. My mother thought I was crazy until she saw how it did me. Sometimes I went all the way and actually vomited. I found it was a little better if I stood straight up and did not lean over until I was ready to spit and rinse. With my third the smell got me also. It sucked really bad because I%26#039;m one of those obsessive tooth brushers, at least 5 times a day. Glad to know I%26#039;m not the only one!
Reply:No I was the same way and even after pregnancy I can not stand it...especially mint flavored...cinnamin is not too bad.
Reply:I always gagged on mint toothpaste but im not a fan of mint for the most part anyway i prefer big red or dentyne fire over any pther gum so i used cinnamon toothpaste and i never gagged it is also a different consistency but some companies make it excessively thick and that killed me dont touch the candy flavored stuff a friend thought it was a good idea it made her throw up every time she used it and then everytime she ate the respective candy again for anyone in need try cinnamon.
Reply:What a strange concept, but it could be like cravings I suppose.
