Can i use a whitening toothpaste if i have braces?

I never thought much of it. Now im reading all kinds of stuff about how if you have braces you shouldnt use a whitening toothpaste. I drink coffee occasionally though. Whats the deal? Is it okay? Did anyone else use whitening while they had braces? Whats the best kind of toothpaste? Also, anyone here use natural toothpastes and ever have a problem with decay?

Can i use a whitening toothpaste if i have braces?
yes, its perfectly ok. i asked my dentist what the best kind of toothpaste is for braces and he reccomended crest pro health. it is sensitive enough where it doesnt burn your mouth, and it helps keep your teeth white.
Reply:I have braces and I use a whitening toothpaste every day. I use Crest lemon flavor. I also use Pearl Drops after coffee which is a polishing whitening toothpase. I think it%26#039;s okay to use after staining drinks. I don%26#039;t think whitening toothpaste works other than removing current stains. After you get them off you%26#039;ll have to Zoom whiten to even out the colors.
Reply:I have never heard of not using whitening paste with braces, it just has baking soda and bleach in it, neither of which affect the metal but may affect the adhesive but I dont think it does. I use Toms natural whitening paste. You have to adjust to the taste but it gest better. I havent had any problems with tooth decay.
Reply:your not supposed to because of whiting but i do anyways and nothing happens to me!
Reply:I%26#039;m not sure I%26#039;d recommend it just because i%26#039;d imagine the day when you%26#039;re braces come off and part of your tooth is white and the other part is a bit off color. Of course, I suppose they%26#039;d polish your teeth and it would all even out.
Reply:No a whitening toothpaste does not cause something bad while you have braces. Toothpaste is actually for whitening purpose right, so the time you brush your teeth you need toothpaste and the good brand should be Maximum Teeth Whitening.
