Does toothpaste work?

One of my teachers said that toothpaste gets rid of acne better than most acne creams even, like, overnight. Is this true? If so, what kinds? I tried last night, and it didn%26#039;t really do anything... any specific kinds of toothpaste?

Does toothpaste work?
it really does work just leave it on. and all kinds will work =]
Reply:It will help as a spot treatment, for a stray pimple here and there because it dries the pimple so that it then begins to shrink.

But if you have chronic acne, don%26#039;t smear toothpaste all over your face. Toothpaste isn%26#039;t meant for long-lasting effects like acne creams (to prevent future acne or to help fade scars).
Reply:Hello, Tooth-paste does work, i try natural white Sensitive thee same one i use to blush my teeths with, and it works for me, i use it twice a day and my face is clear. good luck Peace out.
Reply:Yes the non gel type helps. Apply some toothpaste on the acne. Do not apply on skin because it will make it dry, only on the acne spots. Check out http://totalskincare-s.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.
Reply:From experience, I don%26#039;t think you should try it if you have very sensitive skin. For me it didn%26#039;t clear away my pimples or reduce them, it only added to my problem--redness %26amp; inflamation. If you don%26#039;t think you will have this problem with your skin, go for it. When I couldn%26#039;t afford my facial cleanser, I always wiped (gentle--no harsh rubbing) over my acne with alcohol and had good results.

A quick way to get rid of pimples (not acne) is to use toothpaste on them. It must be white toothpaste, not the gel types. Just dab a little right onto the pimple after cleaning your skin. The best time to do this is at night, works while you sleep. I heard this tip from a model many many years ago. I use it whenever I get a zit and it WORKS for me without any scarring or holes. I just wash the paste off in the morning. I use Crest. Its the best type of toothpaste to use. : )
