Toothpaste Dilemma.?

I have been using Mentadent for a few years now. However, my intuition%26#039;s telling me that possibly I should switch to another product, such as Colgate. Even though I floss and brush twice (sometimes 3 times a day.. depending on what I ate), I feel Mentadent is not doing the %26#039;job%26#039; on my teeth, hence I noticed a cavity forming in my back molar. So my question is.. which toothpaste do YOU think is better?

Toothpaste Dilemma.?
As long as the toothpaste contains fluoride then it is a good toothpaste. Mentadent is not your problem. You need to brush for 2 minutes everytime and floss once every day. Also try using an over the counter fluoride rinse every night after brushing, before bed to prevent cavities. Many things cause cavities most likely your diet, how soon you brush after eating, how often you brush, and sometimes cavities occur because when your teeth formed little spaces were left open, making them more prone to cavities.

The best thing to do is buy ACT (or store brand) fluoride rinse and use before bedtime. Follow the directions. Your tooth may remineralize and the cavity may go away if it is not large. Also try buying xylitol gum/mints/breath spray from your dentist%26#039;s office and use after eating to prevent cavities. Have your dentist evaluate your teeth to see if you really have a cavity or if it is just a stain. A dental hygienist thought I had a cavity forming and after she used %26quot;diagnodent%26quot; she was wrong and it was just a stain. Diagnodent is a specialized instrument that can detect cavities that may not even be visible.
Reply:I like Mentadent too, but it%26#039;s way too expensive....

I use Colgate Total.
Reply:never use bi carb as its disgusting
Reply:NONE of them. Look at the ingredient and do some research, you wont believe what kind of POISON stuff are in it. Instead, go to a Health Food Store, I personally use JASON Pure, Natural, Organic Toothpaste.
Reply:I use Colgate! It has a grat protection against cavities/bad breath..and so on. I would definately switch toothpaste%26#039;s to whichever one you prefer, and/or whichever one you would think could do the job!!
Reply:Any toothpaste that has the required level of sodium flouride would be good enough. There is no point spending alot of money on expensive toothpastes.

Cavities form due mostly to poor diet(sugary diet such sweets, chocolate and biscuits) . Frequency of consumption as well. Maintain your current levels of oral hygiene and have a good diet and you should be ok. But first of all if you think there is a cavity please go see a dentist first.
Reply:I would ask your dentist. He or she knows best. I use Aquafresh Kid%26#039;s because it taste good. But it does not really help bad breath! I also like this one: Colgate MaxFresh it has breath strips in it that helps the bad breath smell and has plenty of flouride to help prevent cavities. I hope this helps.
