Fluoride Toothpaste/Mouthwash Questions?

What is the best kind of fluoride toothpaste and why? Please site any sources you can find. This is very serious, I don%26#039;t want my tooth to fall out :). What active ingredient should I look for in fluoride toothpaste? Also I use Listerine flouride Mouthwash %26amp; the main ingredient is Sodium Fluoride. Does any one have any other suggestions? Can you buy a over-the counter fluoride supliments, or chew able tablet?

Fluoride Toothpaste/Mouthwash Questions?
Sodium fluoride is the active ingredient. However, be careful because it is possible to ingest too much. Too much fluoride can lead to fluorosis, which can cause brown staining/mottling of the enamel. If you use a fluoride toothpaste, and drink fluoridated water, that should be plenty.

Reply:Peroxide is good for the gums. You can brush with it but it tastes nasty. I use a mixture of half mouthwash (for flavor) and half peroxide. Peroxide is totally safe to put in your mouth.

A dentist told me all toothpastes are pretty much the same. It%26#039;s just whatever one you like better.
Reply:Sensodyne. My orthodontist insisted on me using it. It has the highest concentration of flouride you can get without a prescription. (yes there are prescription tooth pastes). I used to have incredibly sensitive teeth and they are much better now.
