Which is good toothpaste to use?

i have very active tartar growth on my teeth. i brush regularly. i use tartar control toothpaste, and have good oral hygeine but tartar always builds up. I never have cavities. I have tried all kinds of tartar control toothpastes -- colgate, crest, arm and hammer baking soda, etc etc. The dentist says tartar control toothpaste won%26#039;t stop tartar growth and that only he can remove it. so should i seek dentist help?

Which is good toothpaste to use?
Have you tried the tooth powders? I think Arm and Hammer makes it. It takes some getting used to, but works well. Do you use mouth wash at all? That is uber helpfull also. I used to not use it regularly, but now I do and I can really see a difforence. You get used to the burn of listerine after a while.
Reply:no hees just saying that so he can get more money of course tartar control toothpaste will work... its in the name
Reply:This probably sound mad. But Smoked for years. Stopped now. I have always bushed my teeth, with bicarbonate of soda, before using toothpaste straight afterword. Bicarb, has scraping qualities, and will never damage your teeth. But keeps plague and tartar away. So, first, take a small nail scissors and scrape away the tartar that is there. And then do the bicarb thing twice a day. Also use an Antiseptic mouth wash Listerine has one. And floss, it%26#039;s a pain, especially when you are tired at night. But the bicarb is the greatest. I never got nicotine stains from smoking. Now I have stopped, smoking I mean. Not bicarb. There are also toothpastes for sensitive teeth, but depending on which country you life in.
Reply:Try Crest Pro Health. Some of my patients have had great results with that.
Reply:You need to go to a dentist and have your teeth cleaned at least twice a year. Good hygiene, brushing, flossing, mouth wash are what you should do no matter what, but professional cleanings are the only way to remove tartar and that keeps your gums healthy too!

Crest Pro Health is a great toothpaste to use too!
