I%26#039;ve heard people use toothpaste to clear away acne. But how do they use it? Do they rub the toothpaste in there skin then wash it away, or they just put a little on there acne then wipe it off with a towel? Please tell me if this really works. If it really does work, how am i suppose to put it on my acne?
Can toothpaste really can clear away acne??
It doesn%26#039;t clear acne. It%26#039;s used for spot treatment. Apply a dab to a new pimple, let dry, go to bed, and wash off the next morning. It works for bad cases but not so well for minor ones. The trick is, it just dries out the pimple.
Reply:it wont clear away the acne but it will make it so it is not red if it is white toothpaste. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER COLOURS! make sure to leave it on for atleast 20 minutes for the full effect.
Reply:It does not work in my opinion. i would dab toothpaste on each zit and let it sit over night. i woke up and i had more bumps. proactive really works great. try it.
Reply:Toothpaste does work on some people. I put a dab of it on each pimple at night before bed. By morning it hardens and I wash it off. Be careful because it can burn your face if it is too strong...I stayed away from minty toothpaste. And your face will be dry wherever you put toothpaste.
Reply:It can help dry it up...however, be careful not to leave it on too long otherwise it may burn your skin. Another thing, don%26#039;t put it on one that you have already popped, that may burn and scar it as well. Just use hydrogen peroxide on them and clean it well.
Reply:i once dabbed some toothpaste (it was blue) on my pimple and when i woke up in the morning, a tiny pimple problem became a HUGE pimple problem!!
Reply:funny you should ask this I actually tried it this weekend and it GREATLY reduced the pimples I put it on. How to do it??? well at night before going to bed dab regular White toothpaste (not the gel the old fashion paste) on your pimples leave it on over night and wash it off int he morning. how it works it dries up the oils and dirt thats in the pore I believe not sure but it did work, I was greatly surprised
Reply:Hi growing up I learned this because my mom was so greedy, you just dab it on the spot and it drys it out, some people get very red from doing this though, so just try a spot or two at night , dont try putting it everywhere untill U know 4-sure.
Reply:I tried it. I just dabbed a bit on the spot and left it on overnight. Wasn%26#039;t too impressed with the results. Try the aspirin mask, people are raving about this on www.makeupalley.com. Just look it up in the search and read reviews/instructions. I just put a couple drops of water on six generic brand uncoated aspirin pills then when they dissolve add honey and lemon. There are lots of different ways to do it but everybody agrees to leave it on for about 10 minutes. Supposedly the aspirin has the same chemical makeup as salycylic acid. Good luck!
Reply:It won%26#039;t work on acne.. it%26#039;s too harsh to put all over face. you only use it for pimple here and there.. just cover/dab the pimple with white toothpaste (not the blue gel) before you go to bed and in the morning just wash face as usual.
Reply:It depends on your skin. My friend uses that technique and it works great but I tried it and it did not work that well. I am not sure but I think it works on Normal/dry skin. But if you have oily skin then I don%26#039;t think it will work as good. And kathleen is right use white toothpaste. Also try sleeping with it on. I know it sounds wierd but that is what my friend does and she doesn%26#039;t have any acne!
