Does toothpaste help acne + alcohol pads?
Toothpaste works if you have a big zit and need to dry it up fast. For long-term use, I%26#039;d go with a product like Proactive or something. I personally use Mary Kay%26#039;s Velocity Lotion and Acne Gel. If you buy some Acne Gel (it works wonders), don%26#039;t get it on your clothes! It will bleach them. :)

Good luck! :)
Reply:I had some success with toothpaste. Use the paste, not gel kind. I don%26#039;t think alcohol pads are really good for your skin. It helps dry it out, but I think it does as much harm as good.
Reply:this mite sound gross to u but if ya av jus popped a spot an its ded red put toothpaste on it the night before an wen ya wake up it wont be as red but it might sting coz it stang wen i done it
Reply:Its true toothpaste helps. But it%26#039;s usually for spot treatment. I recommend water. Really.. drink alot of water and you will see the difference. Saved my life. :) Hope it helps.
Reply:My bro had bad acne, he is 21 now and it is better. 1st remember that this is a phase, it will all go away some day. Yea it stinks now, but in some years it will be gone. Until then...do exactly what your doc says. They are the pro, they make the mad $$$. Toothpaste will take some of the red away, but only a quick fix, not a cure, it won%26#039;t really help any. Those pills and cream from the doc those will make the acne go away. You may have to give it time to work, and may have to work out how much and when of the stuff with your doc to find the perfect match. The best info I can give is to use just what the doc gave you, as he told you to use it, and do not touch your face- acne will go away but if you touch scars last forever. Give it some time and keep in touch with your doc until your face is what you consider good they have tons of things to try that are real medicines (ones to kill the germs that make acne look bad and ones that make your face make new skin quickly-thus make you red and itchie it is supposed to do that it%26#039;s ok because new skin is clean skin). Trust the docs and just give it time they will help you more than toothpaste. Good luck :)
Reply:I think that you need to go pass this topical treatment. You are buring you skin and is just a temporary relief. There is a drug that is taken orally that takes care of your acne for years, trully years. What it does is that dries out your sebum producing cells, so so sebum, no pimples. It causes fetal deformation so NO BABIES DURING TREATMENT. It might also affect you cholesterol but is not a big deal. You take it once or twice a day for 6 months and that is it. Talk to your dermatologist about Accutane, Isotretinoin. I used it and it works. Hope it helps. Good luck
Reply:I use nutrogena acne wash and its helped a lot.
Reply:toothpaste works, but continue with what she prescribed, but put aleo vera gel on you face every morning... works like a charm, cuz i clean my fce with those every morning and mine gets dry and flaky too, unless i put aleao vera gel on.
Reply:By applying a little toothpaste (non-gel) on the pimple overnight. It will dry out the pimple. . More home remedies available at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html
Reply:Yes it helps. An excellent remedy for pimples or acne-prone skin can be made by mixing 1 teaspoon ground cloves with 2 tablespoons fullers earth and ice water. When you wash your face, use sugar to scrub it, at least once a day, for two weeks to rid yourself of acne. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.
