Dog toothpaste, do they make a brand that DOESNT stink as bad as my dog's breath before i brushed her teeth?

All the ones ive tried just dont make her breath any better..someone once told me to use kid%26#039;s toothpaste and she said her vet said it was okay, just dont use adult toothpaste, only kid%26#039;s...

Dog toothpaste, do they make a brand that DOESNT stink as bad as my dog%26#039;s breath before i brushed her teeth?
The best and most natural way to help keep your dogs%26#039; mouth clean is the feed them Nature%26#039;s Toothbrush - a Raw Meaty Bone. The meat flossed between the teeth and massages the gums while the edible bone will scrape the plaque and tartar of the teeth. Over 80% of dogs older than three have periodontal disease which is linked to other health problems so prevention is much better than cure!!

Another cause of bad breath is digestion - a diet high in grains and carbohydrates will not be digested properly and can result in bad breath, excess gas (both ends) and huge stinky poop!!

There are medical conditions that can cause bad breath too - if changing the dog%26#039;s diet doesn%26#039;t improve the situation, get him checked by a vet.
Reply:yes
Reply:no im not sure... just stick deodorant in their mouth?!?!
Reply:did you know you can use baby toothpaste my aunt ues it for her dog for a very long time

good luck
Reply:I use DDS

canine toothpaste
Reply:Im sure they make brands that smell pretty good, you could purchase them most likely at any supply store such as PetSmart or whatever.

IF NOT

Grab some cheap good smelling BABY safe toothepaste at walmart or any grocery store. This should be safe on the dog.

Believe it or not.. dog mouths are cleaner than humans :]
Reply:I have some peanut butter toothpaste which isn%26#039;t too bad. Also, I guess they have come out with a vanilla paste but I haven%26#039;t been able to find it yet.

Doggie mints have also worked well with my doggies.

Haven%26#039;t heard about the kid%26#039;s toothpaste before but now I am curious about checking it out. :) One of my dog%26#039;s breath could gag a maggot!
Reply:im not sure but they have mints for dogs
Reply:But has YOUR vet seen your dog? Bad breath isn%26#039;t normal and can be the sign of many things - kidney disease, liver disease, an infected tooth, gum disease, etc, etc.

Don%26#039;t just mask the problem - GO TO YOUR VET.
Reply:the way we keep our dogs bad breath at bay (hehe consonace lol...anyways) is by mixing in a table spoon or so of Plain yougurt with their dry dog food. This works VERY well(im not exaggerating a bit, our one dog had breath that had a smell that was bad enough to gag you, and after just one feeding her breath improved like 75%) and you wont have to stop at a seperate store just to pick up so dog toothpaste

also, one of our dogs seemed to be getting a little overweight(people feeding her from the table no doubt) so we tried fat free yougurt and i dont think they really noticed a difference, so if you are concerned about your dogs fat intake you can go with the fat free stuff like we are doing now and they wont notice any difference

Good Luck
Reply:I make my own paste from either chicken or beef buillion cube and baking soda.It works well and does%26#039;nt cost more than a few cents to make.
