Toothpaste on pimples?

if the toothpaste really works on clearing pimples up, why don%26#039;t they just take the label %26quot;toothpaste%26quot; off and change it into %26quot;pimple cream%26quot; something like that.

Toothpaste on pimples?
The alkaline in the toothpaste just dries out the pimple, but most pimple removing creams have alkaline (the same as toothpaste!) except you can%26#039;t brush your teeth with them!

Reply:works! but not to clear pimples, but to reduce swelling and redness...chemicals in it help the healing process, and the menthol helps soother irritated skin.

my boyfriend hates it, specially when i break out, as he says i look like i have blue chicken pox!

and believe it or not, so does preparation h! (yes i use it to!)
Reply:i wondered that too.. i guess pimple cream is probably better than toothpaste but it still works by drying them up not really preventing breakouts or anything
Reply:You%26#039;re better off using that skin-colored cream that dries them up.
Reply:Well alot of products work for several purposes. If they changed the label to pimple cream then what would you brush your teeth with? lol Anyway, toothpase does work to draw out the stuff in a pimple but it has to be either the gel or the paste only (dont remember which one, sorry) and it only works on a certain kind of pimple. Just be careful getting toothpaste near your eyes. It will burn like crazy.
Reply:Because real pimple products contain Salacylic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide and toothpaste is far less effective in most cases.
Reply:toothpaste does work on pimples , however it drys out the skin with prolonged use , unlike Faisal cleansers
Reply:hmmm...ahhahah..got 2 try that..ahhah.....so your pimples needs flouride..ahahahh
