Question regarding toothpaste and faces?

I use Colgate Total Whitening Toothpaste. I was just spontaneously wondering: if the toothpaste is %26quot;whitening%26quot;, then does that mean you can use toothpaste and put it all over your face, to whiten your face?

Question regarding toothpaste and faces?
i dont think thats a good idea, its too harsh for your face.

trust me I%26#039;ve tried that once in high school while experimenting with my gal pals :P we used toothpaste as a facial wash and scrub for a few days. at first it felt great, fresh and tingly but after a while our skin got really irritated and our pores seemed to get bigger!

if you want a homemade whitening remedy, try milk and lemon juice mask. be sure to moisturize afterwards because lemon juice can be very drying, although the milk does help in locking in moisture :)
Reply:huh?

don%26#039;t know about that, but if you put (non-gel) toothpaste on a pimple overnight it usually makes it come to a head or go away
Reply:haha your funny i want to know too.
Reply:Not really a great idea. There is so much sulfate in toothpaste that it will dry your skin terribly. If you are having problems w/ discolouration there are many products that will help this. Try something w/ hydro quinine or vitamin c in the ingredient listings. Murad has some great products %26amp; so does Exuviance.
Reply:Most whitening toothpastes either work by abrasion or chemically whitening the enamel. The chemicals used in toothpaste are not intended to be used on the skin and could result in adverse effects. (Such as drying out the skin terribly.) Short answer: No.
Reply:Love the color of your own skin!

I%26#039;m pink for god%26#039;s sake.... PINK. But it suits me...

Toothpaste will just make you look pink too from the irritation.
