Toothpaste at the Dollar Store comes from countries where there is no flouride in the water which means the toothpaste has up to 10 times the amount U.S. manufactured toothpaste does. This has the potential to poison you if too much is swallowed. This is not a hoax. Check www.snopes.com
Do you buy toothpaste from the Dollar Store?
That is very good information for people who swallow toothpaste, or buy toothpaste for their kids.
The dollar stores have name brand products, but they are there for a reason...they can%26#039;t be sold in regular stores either due to defects (like you stated), or closeouts.
When health is a concern, always assume that the products are defective.
Reply:ten times the amount of what?
Got it now,%26quot; ....U.S. manufactured toothpaste HAS.%26quot;
Ok, I buy from Odd Lots, Big Lots and Dollar. I still get brands with flouride in them.
Thanks for asking!
Reply:So, you mean off brands? I have never bought a no-name brand. The closest I came to a non advertised brand would be pepsodent or close-up, but never an off brand literally. Interesting info though.
Reply:I don%26#039;t think all of it does cause it%26#039;s name brands like colgate and crest, but the generic ones aren%26#039;t good. I use only colgate. It%26#039;s a shame alot of the stuff from other countries isn%26#039;t good quality like the pet foods where the wheat flour came from china. The US should really put the money into making more of our own products, that would create more jobs and more pride!
Reply:HELLO,
YOU%26#039;RE SUPPOSED TO SPIT OUT THE TOOTHPASTE NOT EAT IT. ALSO, MOST PEOPLE HAVE A FAVORITE TOOTHPASTE WITH THE ADA SEAL WHICH GIVES YOU SOME CREDIBILITY TO EFFECTIVENESS AND SAFETY.
STICK WITH HOUSEWORK HELP,,,LOL
Reply:Its true somewhat, but toothpaste is only about a dollar at walmart, so I dont see the point in buying it at the dollar store if you really need it that bad. True that toothpaste from other countries could have more or less flouride, I doubt it would kill anymone, if it was that dangerous why would anyone make something like that, even if it was manufactured in a third world country. This post is just pointless.
Reply:Flouride toothpaste is offered in those discount closeout stores. Thank you for your warning!
Reply:hhmmmm interesting to know. I do buy mine at the Dollar General, I use pepsodent, I just love it.
